Ever since I was a little girl I dreamed about going to NYC. I remember watching so many movies that took to place in New York and falling in love with the idea of maybe one day actually living there. That desire to visit NY only became stronger during my teenage years, and with shows like Sex and The City and Gossip Girl it was hard not too!
Dennis and I planned for about 5 months for this trip. We booked everything way ahead of time, which was great because we saved some money doing it that way. We created a very long list with the places we wanted to visit. We saved money, I had my outfits planned, everything seemed to be going great..
UNTIL it came time to sit down and plan each day! It was such a headache!
We knew everything we wanted to do, we just didn’t know in what order, or how we were going to get there. We are always very good at planning out our trips before we arrive at our destination but New York was on a whole nother lever! There is just so much to do and so little time! Especially with everything we wanted to accomplish. It was hard to figure out where to begin.
All credit goes to my boyfriend when it comes to how great we conquered the transportation part of our trip. To be honest I was just following him around the entire time. We started each day at about 7am and went back to our place at around 5pm, to then head out again around 8pm. We accomplished so much in the short amount of time we were there and never once did we get lost or had to ask anyone for directions. I asked him for which apps he used while we were there and this what he gave me…
1. UBER (Lyft was more expensive and always took longer)
3. CityMaps 2 Go (it works hand in hand with Moovit!)
Another thing we found handy was City CoPilot. They stored our luggage for us until it was check-in time at our place. They offer many other services and have several locations in New York.
Once we were settled in we ventured into the city to check out all of the tourist attractions and of course to eat some of the yummiest food New York had to offer! Here are some of the pictures we took during the first two days…
As a kid I never really had the luxury of being able to jet set, but I always knew that one day I was going to travel. I could never answer the question “What do you want to be when you grow up?” but I could sure give you my list of everywhere I wanted to go! New York is one of the first places I get to check off on that little list of mine, and I’m so glad I got to document it and share it.
Happy Tuesday Everyone!
